The Business Watch Program is a cooperative effort between the Santa Monica Police Department and local merchants to prevent business-related crimes within the City. Similar to Neighborhood Watch, Business Watch invites members of the Santa Monica business community to join together to combat crime through various activities. Not only does the program encourage local businesses to get become acquainted with one another, but it also encourages businesses and their employees to report all suspicious activity to the police. Much like Neighborhood Watch, Business Watch groups meet on a regular basis to discuss local crime trends and concerns, and are encouraged to request presentations from the Community Relations Unit. For more information about this program, please contact Community Relations at 310-458-8474. A Crime Prevention Coordinator can help you get a new group started, or refer you to an existing one.
