Note: This is an update to the Attempt Homicide Press Release dated May 11, 2008.

Santa Monica Police Department detectives, working with a sketch artist, were able to obtain a composite sketch of the first suspect.  See below, for information regarding the original press release.

On Saturday, May 10, 2008, at 6:07 p.m., officers from the Santa Monica Police Department responded to reports of ‘shots fired’ in the area of the 2300 block of Cloverfield Boulevard.  When officers arrived, they found two male Hispanic juveniles.

One of the juveniles had suffered a non life-threatening gunshot wound and the other juvenile was not injured.  Santa Monica Fire Department paramedics responded and later transported the victim to a local hospital.

The first suspect is described as a male Hispanic, 18-20 years old, 5’06” tall, 150 pounds, possibly having a goatee, wearing dark clothing, a black hooded sweatshirt and armed with a medium sized handgun. (See sketch)

The second suspect is described as a male Hispanic, 17-20 years old, 5’05” tall, 160 pounds, wearing dark clothing and a dark hooded sweatshirt.

This is an ongoing investigation and anyone with additional information is encouraged to call the Santa Monica Police Department Detectives at (310) 458-8451 (M – F, 8 AM – 5 PM) or the Watch Commander at (310) 458-8427 (24 hours). Anyone wishing to remain anonymous may call the WeTip hotline at 1-800-78-CRIME (27463).
