On Monday, April 28,
2008, at 11:45 pm Officers from the Santa
Monica Police Department responded to an
apartment complex in the 1200 block of 12th
Street regarding a reported stabbing. The
preliminary investigation indicates that the
victim was home alone, asleep, when she was
awakened by a male suspect armed with a
knife. The victim fought with the suspect
and received several lacerations during the
struggle. The victim was transported to a
local hospital where she was treated and
released. The suspect fled the scene on
foot.
It appears that the
suspect may have entered the residence
through a partially opened window. Residents
are reminded to be cognizant of leaving
their windows and doors unsecured during the
upcoming warm summer nights.
The suspect is
described as a male. There is no further
description at this time.
