January 24, 2008

The Santa Monica Police Department will be conducting a Sobriety/Drivers License checkpoint on February 9th 2008. Funding for this program was provided by a grant from The Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.  Officers from the Santa Monica Police Department will be contacting Drivers in the 3200 block of Santa Monica Boulevard to confirm their sobriety and drivers license status.  This is the third of several checkpoints to be conducted  over the next year, in conjunction with the grant.

The Santa Monica Police Department reminds drivers if you plan on drinking have a designated driver or call a cab.  For more information please contact Sgt Larry Horn with The Santa Monica Police Department Traffic Division at (310) 458-8993.

For more information, please contact:
