FATAL TRAFFIC ACCIDENT
December 5, 2007
 
 

On Saturday, December 1, 2007 at 4:08 pm, patrol officers from the Santa Monica Police Department responded to the intersection of 16th Street and Colorado Avenue regarding a traffic collision with injuries. Upon arrival officers discovered that an 80 year old female had been struck while crossing Colorado Avenue in the unmarked crosswalk at 16th Street. She was struck by a 1957 Ford Thunderbird, which was being driven west on Colorado Avenue.

The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital where she expired as a result of her injuries.

The driver of the vehicle (female, 94 years old) was not injured and voluntarily submitted to a blood test. 

The Santa Monica Police Department’s Major Accident Response Team is continuing to investigate the cause of this collision.
