On August
12, 2007, at approximately 12:10AM, the
Santa Monica Police Department received a
call regarding possible shots being fired in
the area of 20th and Pico. At
a approximately 12:18AM a call was received
from St. Johns Hospital in Santa Monica that
two gunshot victims had been brought into
the emergency room.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the
two victims were in the parking lot of
Eddie’s Liquor at the intersection of 20th
and Pico when an unknown suspect(s) fired
several gunshots at the victims striking
them both. No suspect description is
available at this time. Both victims are
being treated at area hospitals and are in
critical condition.
The
investigation is ongoing.
