On November 12, 2006 at approximately 2:00 P.M., Santa Monica Police Officers on patrol responded to a call of possible shots fired near the intersection of 11th Street and Michigan Avenue. Responding officers discovered evidence of a possible shooting and immediately canvassed the area for victim(s) and / or witnesses with negative results.
A short time later, a 25-year old male gunshot victim was located at a local hospital. At this time, the victim is in critical condition with gun shots wounds to the abdomen and forearm.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the victim and a friend were standing in the 1800 block of 11th Street when they heard gunshots. The victim who sustained gunshots was then promptly transported to the hospital prior to arrival by SMPD officers. Witnesses described a brown vehicle leaving the area shortly after the report of gunshots. At this time, there is no further description of the suspect(s) or vehicle.
