On Thursday, September 21, 2006, at 6:19 pm Santa Monica Police responded to the intersection of 25th Street and Ocean Park Boulevard regarding a traffic accident with injuries involving a pedestrian.
Preliminary investigation revealed the driver of the vehicle was traveling northbound on 25th Street turning westbound onto Ocean Park Boulevard. The pedestrian was crossing southbound across Ocean Park Boulevard in a marked crosswalk when the vehicle struck the pedestrian.
The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital and is listed in critical condition.
The driver of the vehicle was interviewed at the scene and released pending further investigation. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
