On July 23, 2006, at 9:42 p.m., an Operation Safe Streets officer heard 4 shots fired in the area of 2100 Pico. As the information was broadcasted, police dispatch received calls of shots fired from the area of 18th and Pico. An Operation Safe Streets supervisor saw a male wearing baggy clothing running westbound on Pico Blvd. Preliminary investigation revealed the subject was walking when the suspect’s vehicle pull-up and the occupants in the vehicle said something to the subject at which time he ran. As the subject ran, shots were fired and no one was injured.
The subject/witness was uncooperative and gave limited information. This incident appears to be gang related.
The suspect’s vehicle is described as a possible White mid 90’s Toyota Corolla.
