On July 19, 2006, at 12:00 p.m., Santa Monica Police responded to 1300 block of 4th Street, Washington Mutual, regarding an attempt armed robbery that just occurred. Apparently, the suspect entered the bank and presented a demand note to the employee. The suspect left the bank without any money. Responding officers saw the suspect on foot in the 1300 block of 5th Street were he was detained. A field show up was conducted and the suspect was positively identified and then arrested.
The suspect is identified as Justin Chandler Horton, M/W, 26 years of age, transient. The suspect was booked at the Santa Monica Jail and charged with attempted armed robbery and probation violation and his bail is set at $50,000.
