SEXUAL ASSAULT
 
July 11, 2006
 
 

On July 11, 2006, at about 6:10 a.m. Santa Monica Police conducted a sexual assault investigation that occurred in the 2200 block of Virginia Avenue. Officers spoke with the victim who said that she had been using the payphone when the suspect approached her and then sexually assaulted her. The suspect fled on a bicycle (no description). The victim was taken to a local hospital where she was treated and released.

The suspect is described as a male Hispanic, 20 years of age.

Anyone having information regarding this incident is encouraged to contact the Santa Monica Police Department at 310-458-8491 or Sergeant Gary Herman or Detective Sal Lucio at 310-458-8451. Callers who wish to provide anonymous information may also call the We-Tip national hotline at 1-800-78-CRIME (27463).  Callers with information that leads to an arrest and conviction become eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
