On July 7, 2006, at 8:45 pm, a Santa Monica Police Officer was flagged down regarding a shooting. Apparently the incident occurred at Virginia Ave Park located in the 2200 block of Virginia Ave. After the victim was shot he was taken to a local hospital by private vehicle. The victim is a Male, Hispanic, juvenile who had non-life threatening wounds in the upper torso.
The suspect is described as Male Hispanic, 15 years of age, 5’8, weigh approximately 180 pounds, wearing a white baggy “T” shirt and shorts. Preliminary investigation indicates this incident appears to be gang related however; the victim does not have any gang affiliation.
