On May 24, 2006, at approximately 8:10 PM Santa Monica Police responded to the area of Ashland Ave and 11th Street regarding an accident. Preliminary investigation revealed the incident was a road rage where the victim was followed by the suspect from the area of 14th and Pearl Street. The suspect followed the victim for several blocks while honking his horn. When the victim got out of his vehicle to confront the suspect, the suspect drove toward the victim and struck the victim with his vehicle. The victim sustained serious injuries, not life threatening, and was taken to a local hospital.
The suspect is described as a Male, White, 40-50 years of age, thin to medium build, with short gray hair. The suspect’s vehicle is described as a late 1980’s to early 1990’s Toyota 4-Runner, dark or forest green in color, good condition with a tinted rear window and pronounced roof racks (luggage, surf board, or bike type). The suspect’s vehicle is may have minor front hood damage.
