On Saturday May 13, 2006 the Santa Monica Police Department will conduct a,  “Sobriety Checkpoint”, in the 2800 block of Wilshire Boulevard. The checkpoint is in accordance with the State of California-Office of Traffic Safety Grant. The Grant entitled, “You Drink & Drive. You Lose”, is part of a national campaign to reduce the number of people killed or injured in alcohol-related crashes.

Police Chief James T. Butts, Jr., reminds everyone, “Don’t risk it. If you plan to drink, don’t drive.
