On January 29, 2006, at 9:01 pm, Santa Monica Police responded to the 1600 block of 7th Street regarding a stabbing. When officers arrived they found a male victim lying on the side walk unconscious. Statements from witnesses led officers to the suspect’s location and he was arrested.
The suspect is identified as Chester Cornelius White, Male, Black, 55, transient. He was booked for attempted murder and his bail was set at $527,500.
The victim was transported to a local hospital and is listed in stable condition. His injuries included 7 stab wounds to his face, arms, torso and a punctured lung.
