KIDNAPPING / POISONING INVESTIGATION
January 16, 2006

On Friday, January 6, 2006, at 12:12 am, a Santa Monica Officer was flagged down by the reporting party in the 2900 block of Main Street regarding an intoxicated person being placed into a vehicle.   The officers located the subject and requested paramedics who responded and transported the subject to a local hospital.

Preliminary investigation indicates a suspect placed an unknown substance in the victim’s drink and a short time later the victim became ill.  Officers detained the suspect who was identified as Christopher Todd Douridas, M/W 43 of Los Angeles.  Douridas was arrested and taken to the Santa Monica Jail and he was booked for poisoning, kidnapping, and additional charges.  His bail is set at 1,000,000.

The investigation is on going and the case has been presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office and the filing of charges is pending.
