On September 9, 2005, at 0630 a.m., the Santa Monica Police Department’s Special Entry Team and Narcotics Detectives served a search warrant in the 1800 block of 17th Street. Officers made forced entry into the location and once inside they recovered an undisclosed amount of cocaine and marijuana. Also recovered were two loaded rifles and U.S. currency.
Two suspects were arrested and taken to the Santa Monica Jail. The suspects are identified as Donnie Brown, Male, Black, of Santa Monica and Layhachie Collier, Female, Black 32, of Santa Monica. Both suspects were booked for possession of rock cocaine and marijuana for the purposes of sales, possession of a loaded firearm in the presence of narcotics. An additional charge of destruction of evidence was added to Brown because when officers entered the residence he was flushing contraband down the toilet.
Bails has been set at $30,000 for each suspect.
