On July 21, 2005, at 4:43 a.m. Santa
Monica Police responded to Lincoln
Blvd and Grant Ave, Jack-in-the-Box,
regarding shots fired. When
officers arrived they spoke to the
victims who said they were in the
drive-thru area when a masked
suspect approached their vehicle and
displayed a knife and a handgun. A
struggle ensured between the suspect
and the passenger in the vehicle.
During the struggle the suspect
stabbed the passenger victim in the
hand. The driver retrieved a
handgun and shot the suspect in the
upper body. The suspect fled on
foot and collapsed a short distance
away.
Santa Monica Fire Paramedics
responded and pronounced the suspect
dead at the scene. The injured
victim, the passenger in the
vehicle, was taken to a local
hospital and treated for his injury.
The suspect (M/W Adult) has not been
identified and the investigation is
on-going.
