BOMB THREAT INVESTIGATION
July 18, 2005

On July 18, 2005, at 4:30 pm Santa Monica Police responded to the 200 block of Colorado Ave. regarding a bomb threat.  When officers arrived they spoke to the reporting person who said that they received several telephonic bomb threats.  A search was conducted by loss prevention officers and they located a suspicious package inside the store.

Approximately 2000 people were evacuated from the mall.  The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Bomb Squad was contacted and responded to the location.  The bomb technician deemed the package to be safe and the area was re-opened for both pedestrian and vehicular traffic.
