SERVICES FOR SANTA MONICA POLICE OFFICER RICARDO CROCKER

James T. Butts, Jr., Chief of Police announces services for Santa Monica Police Officer Ricardo Crocker.

On May 26th, 2005, Ricardo Crocker lost his life in the Al-Anbar Province in Iraq in the service of his country.  His remains are currently at Dover Air Force base and will be transported to Santa Monica on Tuesday.  As of this morning, arrangements for Santa Monica Police Officer and USMC Major Ricardo Crocker’s final services are complete.  They are as follows:

WHEN: Thursday, June 2, 2005, at 9:30 a.m.
   
WHERE:

St. Monica’s Catholic Church
725 California Ave
Santa Monica, CA 90403
Cross Streets:  California Ave between Lincoln Blvd and 7th Street

 

Funeral Mass will begin at 9:30 a.m.

 

The burial service will be held at the Puerto Rico National Cemetery at a time and date to be determined by the family.

 

Directions from I-10 Freeway:  Proceed west on I-10 (Santa Monica) Freeway, exit Lincoln Blvd.  Right turn on Lincoln Blvd (north) for ¾ mile to California Ave.  Last major thoroughfare before California Ave. is Wilshire Blvd.  Traffic control personnel will direct you to parking.

 

400 seats of the 800 person capacity sanctuary will be reserved for uniform law enforcement and military personnel.  The remaining 400 seats will be reserved for family, City employees and members of the public.  All uniform personnel should arrive by 9:00 a.m. to ensure seating in the sanctuary.

 

Uniform of the day will be Class A with tie and cover available.

 

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to the Santa Monica Police Activities League.
