COMMERCIAL BURGLARY
SUSPECT IN CUSTODY
May 24, 2004
DR# 04-042304

On May 23, 2004, at 10:08 p.m., Santa Monica Police Department responded to the 2200 block of Colorado regarding a commercial burglary investigation.   When officers arrived at the location they saw that the suspect had removed the window from the door leading into the business.  Apparently the suspect entered the business and left the business prior to the officer’s arrival.  Investigating officers reviewed a videotape of the incident that showed the suspect breaking into the business.  Officers searched the immediate area and located the person in the area that was depicted in the videotape.  Officers arrested the suspect and recovered evidence linking him to the crime.

The suspect was arrested and booked at the Santa Monica Jail. He has been identified as Lance Manuel Araujo, Male Black, 46, transient.  His bail has been set at $20,000.
