  Press Release March 11, 2004: Sobriety Checkpoint
SANTA MONICA SOBRIETY CHECKPOINT
March 11, 2004
 
On March 12, 2004, the Santa Monica Police Department will be conducting a “Sobriety Checkpoint” in the 2900 block of Olympic Blvd. The checkpoint is in accordance with a State of California - Office of Traffic Safety law enforcement grant. The grant entitled “CREATE – Community Resource, Education and Traffic Enforcement” is designed to improve traffic safety in the community.
The goal of this program aims at educating our community regarding drunk driving while at the same time identifying and removing drunk drivers from our roadways.
