On
November 16, 2003, at 8:52 a.m., Santa Monica Police responded to 1000
block of the westbound Santa Monica Freeway regarding a death
investigation. The
investigation by S.M.P.D. Detectives revealed that the victim, Bobby
Ray Capps, M/W, 61, (Homeless), had been the victim of an assault.
The injuries incurred 2 days earlier during the assault
resulted in his death. The
suspect was arrested and he has been identified as David Brevig, M/W,
41, (Homeless).
On
November 18, 2003, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office
filed one count of manslaughter against David Brevig.
