On
October 29, 2003, at 8:30 a.m., Santa Monica Police responded to 4th
Street and Arizona Avenue regarding a stabbing that just occurred.
When officers arrived they located a male victim with a stab
wound to the upper body that he received during an armed business
robbery. Santa Monica Fire Paramedics responded and provided medical
assistance to the victim.
Responding
officers stopped a subject matching the description of the outstanding
suspect in the 300 block of Santa Monica Blvd.
A field show-up was conducted and the victim positively
identified the suspect.
The
suspect was identified as Kevin Carriker, Male, Korean, 33 of
Cerritos. The suspect was
arrested and booked at the Santa Monica Jail and charged with attempt
murder, kidnapping, armed robbery, parole violation, and additional
related charges. The
suspect was a parolee at large from Nevada and had no bail due to the
parole violation.
Preliminary
investigation revealed that the suspect and the victim worked together
in the past. The victim
was transported to a local hospital and his condition is listed as
serious.
