On October 3, 2003, at 5:40 a.m., Santa Monica Police responded to the 2300 block of Cloverfield Blvd. regarding a radio call of a vandalism.  When officers arrived they saw that unknown suspect(s) had poured red paint on a vehicle that was parked on Cloverfield Blvd and on the surrounding property. Also, written were the initial “ALF” which stands for the Animal Liberation Front (ALF).

Preliminary investigation indicated that members from this group and the Animal Defense League focused their attention to this victim because he is the General Manager of the City of Los Angeles Department of Animal Services.
