On
September 27, 2003, at 3:27 p.m., Santa Monica Police responded to the
3100 block of Colorado regarding a burglary in progress.
When officers arrived they located a female inside a detached
garage.
Preliminary
investigation by officers indicated that the female had forcibly made
entry into the garage and was involved in the burglary. The
suspect’s vehicle was located a short distance away, full of stolen
property taken during other burglaries that occurred on prior days.
Detectives from the Crimes Against Property Unit conducted a
follow-up investigation. During
this investigation, Detectives served a search warrant at a local
storage facility which yielded a large amount of property taken in
other burglaries and related crimes. Detectives were able to identify
additional crime victims, mostly from the Santa Monica, Beverly Hills,
and West Los Angeles areas.
The
suspect was arrested and transported to the Santa Monica Jail and
booked for burglary, possession of methamphetamine,
and parole violation. No bail. She has been identified as
Orange Eryn Battison, F/W 31.
