On
September 25, 2003, at approximately 1:50 P.M., a commercial burglary
occurred in the 1300 block of Montana Avenue in the City of Santa
Monica.
Three
suspects entered the building and posed as potential customers.
Suspect #1, Manuel Garcia, a male Hispanic, 58-years old,
distracted a store employee while the two remaining suspects removed
items from a locked jewelry case located in the public area of the
business. Suspects #2 and
#3 are identified as Ricardo Ratzke, a male Hispanic 33-years old and
Nohora Sierra, a female Hispanic, 46-years old.
All
three suspects fled in a blue colored mini-van type vehicle.
Santa Monica Police officers observed the suspects’ vehicle
in the 1100 block of Georgina Avenue.
The vehicle was stopped and all three suspects were taken into
custody without incident. The total value of the items taken was
estimated at $100,000.00.
All
three suspects were later booked at the Santa Monica Jail for burglary
and conspiracy. Garcia
and Ratzke are held with no bail and Sierra’s bail is set at $1
million. All of the jewelry taken was recovered.
