RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY
SUSPECTS IN CUSTODY

On September 10, 2003, at 4:15 a.m., Santa Monica Police Department responded to the 300 block of 9th Street regarding a residential burglary in progress.  When officers arrived, they spoke to the resident who heard the noises in the house.   A search of the residence was conducted by a Police K-9 and during the search the dog found the suspect hiding inside the house.

The suspect was arrested and booked at the Santa Monica Jail. He has been identified as Antonio M. Martinez, Male Hispanic, 25, of Los Angeles. Several items of jewelry were recovered at the time of the arrest.  His bail has been set at $50,000.

On September 11, 2003, the District Attorney’s Office filed one count of residential burglary and one count of receiving stolen property, and probation violation.
