BRIBERY INVESTIGATION
SUSPECT ARRESTED

The Santa Monica Police Department has arrested an employee of a privately-owned temporary employment agency contracted to enforce building regulations for the City of Santa Monica.  The suspect was identified as Martin Aguirre, M/H, 29 yrs of age, of South Gate and he was booked for soliciting cash payment in exchange for not taking action in regard to possible building code violations.  

Locations assigned to this person, who had performed Code Compliance inspections since December, 2002 are being re-inspected by City of Santa Monica building officials.  Any person with information regarding this investigation is encourage to contact the Santa Monica Police Department Sergeant David Hunscke at (310) 458-8949.
