SHOOTING INVESTIGATION

On March 2, 2003, at approximately 4:05 A.M., Santa Monica Police officers responded to the 1600 Block of Ocean Avenue regarding a possible shooting victim at that location. The officers discovered a 26-year old male victim (a resident of the City of Bell Gardens) with a gunshot wound.

he victim was transported to a local hospital and treated for a wound to the abdomen. At this time, his injuries do not appear to be life threatening.

A preliminary investigation suggests that this incident may be gang-related.

Suspect description:

Suspect 1: Male, Hispanic, 26 - 30-years old, 5' 5", 200lbs, white thermal-type shirt, gray pants - No further description

Suspects 2-6: Male and Female Hispanics - No further description

The investigation is on going.
