In
December 2002, Santa Monica Police Department was notified by the
Department of Justice that a sex offender who lives in the City of
Santa Monica was re-assessed to the level of “High Risk”.
The sex offender is identified as Arthur Akouris, Male, White,
602, 230 pounds, having black hair and brown eyes with a date of birth
of July 17, 1959. He
resides in the 1100 block of
Chelsea Avenue, Santa Monica, 90403.
Arthur
Akouris was identified as a “High Risk” sex offender by the
Department of Justice based on his criminal history.
He is required to register as a sex offender as a result of his
convictions.
Akouris
is currently on felony parole with a condition that prohibits him from
being out of his residence between the hours of 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.
This
notification is made pursuant to Megan’s Law.
The purpose of the release of this information is to allow
members of the public to protect themselves and their children from
“High Risk” sex offenders living in Santa Monica.
The law is not intended to punish the offender and specifically
prohibits using the information to harass or commit any crime against
the offender.
