ATTEMPT MURDER INVESTIGATION

On December 18, 2002, at 1:31 p.m., Santa Monica Police responded to the 1500 block of 4th Street, Ken Edwards Center, regarding an assault that just occurred.  When officers arrived they found a male victim that was bleeding from the neck area.  Santa Monica Fire Department Paramedics responded and provided medical assistance to the victim.  The victim was transported to a local hospital and is listed in fair condition.

Officers conducted an interior search for the suspect and he was located in the restroom.  The suspect was taken into custody and later transported to the Santa Monica Jail.  The suspect is identified as Louis Reed, Male, White, 71 and he was booked for attempt murder and his bail has been set at $1,000,000.
