On
September 28, 2002 at 9:50 a.m., Santa Monica Police Officers heard a
woman screaming in front of City Hall. Responding officers found a
female that had been stabbed in the upper torso.
The male suspect turned the knife on himself and stabbed
himself several times in the upper torso. The female victim was transported to a local hospital were
she later died. The male
suspect died at the location.
During
the incident, the female victim was accompanied by her 6-year-old son
and a domestic violence counselor.
Apparently, the male and female are estranged and were in the
process of conducting their court ordered visitation transfer of their
son.
The
identities of the victim and the suspect will not be released pending
notification of next of kin. The victim is described as a Female, Hispanic, 21 of Santa
Clarita. The suspect is
described as a Male, Hispanic, 27 of West Los Angeles.
The
Robbery / Homicide Unit of the Santa Monica Police Department is
handling the investigation. Anyone
