DEATH INVESTIGATION
  
June 28, 2002
  
  

On June 28, 2002 at approximately 12:40 a.m., Santa Monica Police responded to the 1900 block of 20th Street regarding possible gunshots.  Officers found a 19 year old Santa Monica resident suffering from gunshot wounds.  He was treated at the scene by Santa Monica Fire Department paramedics and transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening wounds.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was standing on the sidewalk in the 1900 block of 20th Street when a dark compact vehicle slowly drove by.  The victim then heard gunshots and realized he had been shot.

The investigation is on-going.
