On
June 26, 2002 at approximately 2:00 P.M., Santa Monica Police Officers
responded to a home in the 300 block of 20th Street
regarding a 5 year-old boy who was found submerged in a backyard pool
by his mother. The mother
worked at the home and did not notice the boy had gone into the pool.
The
responding officers initiated CPR until paramedics arrived.
The victim was transported to the U.C.L.A. - Santa Monica
Emergency Hospital where he was pronounced dead by the attending
physician.
At
this time, the drowning appears to be accidental.
The
investigation is on-going.
