On
April 4, 2002, at 12:15 P.M., Santa Monica Police responded to the
2800 block of Neilson Way regarding an armed robbery that occurred in
the 1300 block of 5th Street at about 11:25 A.M.
Officers spoke to the victim who said, he was walking on the
street when a suspect grabbed him from behind and threw him onto the
ground. While on the
ground, a second suspect displayed a handgun and suspect 1 demanded
the victim’s wallet. The
victim complied and suspect 1 took his wallet.
Both suspects fled on foot and the victim lost sight of them.
Suspect
1 is described as a Male, Black, 30-35 years of age, 6’00, wearing a
black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, having a short full beard and
being muscular.
Suspect
2 is described as a Male, Black, 30-35 years of age, 5’8 – 5’10,
170 pounds, wearing a black jacket with white letters, black pants,
being clean shaven and wearing dark sunglasses.
Loss
was the victim’s black wallet containing an unknown amount of U.S
currency and miscellaneous identification.
