On
November 11, 2001, at 5:18 a.m., Santa Monica Police responded to 23rd
and Pearl regarding shots being fired.
When officers arrived they found the victim (M/24) lying on the
ground next to his vehicle. Preliminary investigation indicates that the victim was
driving northbound on 23rd Street when the suspect’s
vehicle pulled next to the victim’s vehicle.
There was an exchange of words between the victim and a
passenger in the suspect’s vehicle.
The passenger in the suspect’s vehicle began firing numerous
shots at the victim from an unknown type weapon.
The victim was shot several times in the upper torso and was
transported to a local hospital and is listed in serious condition
The
suspects are described as 2 Male Hispanics with shaved heads.
The suspect’s vehicle described as a Gray van.
The
Robbery/Homicide Unit is handling the investigation.
