Because pedestrians are traveling at a much slower speed than vehicles, and are obviously much smaller in comparison, it is easy to see how a vehicle could unintentionally injure a person if they are not careful. Likewise, pedestrians should take precautions to assist with visibility and ensure that drivers are both able to see them, and expect them to be there so that they are better prepared to stop for them if necessary. The tips in this section are for both pedestrians and drivers. If both do their part to maintain pedestrian safety, the road will be a much safer place.
